Tonja Stapleton’s entrepreneurial perspective began in her mother’s restaurant and later expanded through her work with the City of Detroit, including a leadership role in the Buildings, Safety Engineering & Environmental Department (BSEED), where she helped improve development and permitting systems while witnessing the challenges small businesses face.
In 2016, she founded Parkstone Development Partners to guide entrepreneurs through zoning, permitting, and development approvals. That work, combined with her own experiences with unstable commercial leases, ultimately led to the acquisition of 2930 E. Jefferson to provide stable workspaces and strengthen Detroit’s small business ecosystem.
